Gratitude

My lady and I had an action-packed itinerary at the Six Senses last week including a Vietnamese cooking class, hiking trail and a sunset boat tour to boot.

While they were all fun-filled activities, it was a Hatha yoga class that took me by surprise. Arriving straight from a late lunch (not recommended) it was my first experience with the ancient tradition.

In the final minutes, the teacher instructed us to sit up straight and close our nose, one nostril at a time, in service to deep breathing. As I followed his instructions it quickly dawned on me how much I missed that blocked nostril.

It’s all too easy to overlook the pieces that make up the whole, to simply take everything for granted.

Yet it’s crucial to make time for perspective, to start focusing on the ingredients that leave us feeling truly nourished.
