Relax, Just Do It

“Learn to relax. Your body is precious, as it houses your mind and spirit. Inner peace begins with a relaxed body. ” — Norman Vincent Peale

When it comes to completing high stakes tasks it’s easy to ruin our favourite outfit with sweat stains and unabashed anxiety. Whether these projects involve other people's dreams or your own it can feel like the weight of the world is upon your shoulders.

Yet the key to putting these tasks under your thumb has nothing to do with how much dread and foreboding you internalize. Just the opposite.

Think about anytime you’ve run into an old acquaintance whose name eludes you. It’s not uncommon to throw your mind into a state of frenzy as you force yourself to come up with the goods. Yet when push comes to shove all you can manage is a forced smile and insincere “So good to see you!”

Chances are their name will come to you on your Uber home or the shower the following morning.

We do our best work when we don’t have a gun pressed against the back of our head, when we allow ourselves to simply be in the moment.

Don’t ruin a good nights sleep over your latest deadline. Let the sandman do his job and you’ll be amazed to find the answers waiting for you in the morning.
