Love Cries

Yesterday was a long day. A twenty-hour rollercoaster that seemed to go on forever.

It started before sun-up, my lady and I catching an early-bird flight to Melbourne for a campaign shoot that left me drained but exhilarated. Enjoying Happy Hour drinks on an early evening flight home, we hopped an Uber straight to the Enmore Theatre, arriving twenty minutes before the show.

We were there to see Four Tet, the renowned English electronic artist, put on a night to remember. Set up in the middle of the audience, Hebden plowed into a ninety-minute set that explored the depths, going where the darkness reigned supreme.

I don’t normally get all gooey about musicians these days. When it comes to Kieran Hebden, the face behind the machine, my laissez-faire policy goes right out the window.

Hebden is prolific. A prodigious consumer and producer of all things musical.

He has an innate ability to tap into primal elements within his work, evoking a deep humanity that never fails to cut to the core.

Looking up to our own heroes and heroines not only makes life more exciting. It inspires us to break from the mold and set a course for new horizons.
