In the last couple months my sisterino and I have been swapping books back and forth. 

This week she handed me The Barefoot Investor, a down-to-earth guide on how to stop howling all the way to the bank.

Written by Scott Pape, a good ol’ country boy and dinky-di financial wizard, he opens with a powerful metaphor that summarizes the philosophy of his teachings. 

He talks of planting the seeds of an apple tree the day after his farm burned down.

What compelled such a gesture?

Because he instinctively saw life as being much bigger than everyday events. He saw a future where that apple tree stood tall beside his new home, his grandchildren playing in the tyre swing that hung from the bough.

It’s integral to find time to contemplate whether we’re sowing the right seeds to reap the rewards we want.

Our future depends on it.
