Family Matters

I came across this moving speech, delivered overnight at the Toronto International FIlm Festival.

Joaquin Phoenix is one of my favourite modern actors, the type of character actor who always manages to steal the scene out from under his peers.

Seeing him pay respect to his late brother and family is so touching for the simple fact that it’s loaded with tender truth.

We all got to where we are with the love and guidance of a select few.

Paying it forward is how we honour their gift.
