Tune In, Drop Out
I was lucky enough to catch Mulatu Astatke at the Sydney Festival last night thanks to my lady’s press credentials.
Sitting there in the cool darkness of a booth, I stared up at the red velvet dome of the Spiegeltent and lost myself in the sounds of the Ethiopian giant.
As my mind wandered off, images and memories came rushing forth, leaving me grinning like a Cheshire cat.
It helped me to remember why I loved to spend my twenties at music venues. They were a source of inspiration. A way to hit the reset button and tap into something pure.
When was the last time you did something just for you?
If you’re scratching your head that’s not a promising start.
Ask yourself what helps you tune into yourself and then pencil it in for yesterday.
Oh, and don’t forget to have a good time.
