A Trip To Singapore

A couple months back I was in Singapore to shoot a Louis Vuitton editorial video for Russh magazine. It was my first time visiting the city as an adult and the three day trip proved to be an eye-opener.

While I was an instant sucker for the tropical climate, I was a little miffed by the city itself. It reminded me of one enormous film set, everything so clean and crisp. Like a futuristic sequel to Pleasantville.

It made me cherish the imperfections of my hometown. Of manicured gardens parked beside a hoarders front lawn. For that curious semblance of individuality is what makes us so special. Why each and every one of us is bound to paint a bowl of apples and oranges with our own je ne sais quoi. 

It was the people that helped me to un-furrow my brow, their warm and ingratiating smiles making me feel like I was no mere tourist. And so this trip was a beautiful blur of stealing locations in the rain, happy hour drinks and afternoon swims. All in the name of ‘fahshun'.
